Here's a breakdown of what goes into our organic hair oil, and how each of the ingredients will benefit your hair.

Argan Oil

Argan oil is a natural plant oil, which derives from the kernels of the fruit of the argan tree. It’s been a culinary staple in Morocco for centuries, but is now used across the world in cosmetics and medicinal applications.

What makes this oil so beneficial is that it is rich in vitamin A, C and E (tocopherol), as well as containing antioxidants, linoleic acid and Omega 6 acids. When applied, this oil can help boost cell production and helps to lock in moisture, resulting in healthier and naturally shiny hair and skin.

This oil can also help repair split ends and reduce frizzy hairs, which allows hair to grow more consistently with less breakage.

Jojoba Oil

Pronounced "ho-ho-bah", jojoba is a plant that originates from Mexico and the southern United States. The seeds from this plant are used to create a waxy type of oil, which has many benefits and is used in a wide variety of cosmetic products.

Jojoba oil is a natural moisturizer which helps to strengthen hair growth by dispersing oils from hair follicles. It has antibacterial and antioxidant properties which can help to keep the skin and hair follicles clear of infections.

Jojoba Oil is rich in vitamins C, B, copper and zinc which provide excellent protection against dryness, breakage, and split ends. It helps make dry, coarse hair softer and shinier, while cutting frizz and fly-aways too.

Marula Oil

Marula Oil comes from the Marula Tree and is native to parts of southern Africa. Many parts of the marula tree are cultivated for food and traditional medicines, but the part used for the oil is the hard brown nut at the core of each fruit.

Being a newcomer to the beauty ingredient scene, marula oil has a wide range of applications and benefits. It is abundant with L-arginine and glutamic amino acids which have hydrating, anti-aging properties. It also contains vitamins E and C which fight free radicals and can also prevent skin damage caused by the ultraviolet rays of the sun and pollution.

For your hair, Marula oil will combat dry, frizzy, or brittle hair. It retains moisture within your hair helping to nourish hair from root to tip, whilst also strengthening your hair follicles by penetrating the scalp from inside, making it more resistant to breakage.

Watermelon Seed Oil

Watermelon is a delicious summer fruit, full of nutrients and a high concentration of water. It’s no wonder that this fruit has amazing benefits for your hair too!

It’s packed full of anti-inflammatory and antioxidants, linoleic acid and has Omegas 3, 6, and 9, which are great for cardiovascular and immune health while also aiding our nervous system.

Watermelon seed oil, often called Ootanga oil or Kalahari oil, is a great emollient for moisturising your strands and scalp, helping to nourish the hair without making it greasy. It is naturally rich in antioxidants, which boosts scalp circulation and in turn helps reduce hair fall.

Flaxseed Oil

Flaxseed is the small golden seed of the plant Linum usitatissimum. This oil, also known as Linseed Oil, has a wide range of uses and benefits and is used in cooking as well as medicines.

Flaxseed oil is one of the richest plant-based sources of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Our bodies cannot naturally produce omega-3, so it needs to be supplemented within our diets and other sources. A lack of omega-3 can lead to dry, thinning and brittle hair.

This oil is a powerful ingredient that works wonders for hair that is prone to breakage and damage. Being rich in protein and selenium, it helps reduce hair loss, dandruff and other unhealthy scalp conditions, whilst also adding hydration and shine to your hair. The abundant source of Omega-3 fatty acids within this oil helps to nourish hair follicles for healthy hair growth.

Grape Seed Oil

Grape Seed Oil, as suggested by its name, is extracted from crushed grape seeds. This oil is quite common within cosmetic products due to its ability to balance out dry and oily patches on the skin. It is one of the thinnest and fastest absorbing oils, and combines well with thicker oils to help balance out the consistency.

Just like coconut and olive oil, Grape Seed Oil is an effective natural hair moisturiser and conditioner. However, this oil has far more benefits due to it also containing natural Omega 6 and Omega 9. It helps combat hair issues such as hair loss and dandruff, while consistent use of this oil can also increase hair growth.

This means healthier and stronger hairs, which don’t appear greasy and with no dandruff or flaky patches on the skin. Generally, if you have brittle and dry hair, grape seed oil will help restore your hair and give it a great shine.

Caprylic Capric Triglyceride

Caprylic Capric Triglyceride is derived from coconut oil and combined with glycerine in order to aid its abilities as an emollient.

Caprylic triglyceride is full of antioxidants that help preserve your skin and scalp, reducing signs of ageing. As an emollient, it works to condition the skin and hair, providing a lightweight, non-greasy lubricating barrier.

Ylang Ylang Oil

Ylang Ylang Essential Oil comes from the yellow, star-shaped flower that grows on the Cananga tree (Cananga odorata). This potent oil has been widely used in perfumes for centuries and is still used in popular perfumes such as Chanel Number Five.

It also have a number of health benefits and can alleviate anxiety, and reduce depression. A small study published on the National Library of Medicine found that ylang ylang reduced anxiety and boosted self-esteem when it was either massaged into skin or inhaled.

Ylang Ylang is an effective natural treatment to reduce hair fall caused by stress and alopecia. It’s calming fragrance has a euphoric effect on the nervous system, and reduces anxiety and tension, thus reducing hair fall due to stress.

Bergamot Oil

Bergamot essential oil has lots of natural qualities, its continuous use certainly helps boost the health of your hair and skin. It acts as a natural stimulant that increases blood flow around the areas it is applied to. As hair roots get stimulated by the oil, hair follicles become nourished and can significantly increase in growth.

As chemicals from hair products build up around your skin and hair follicles deep in your hair, pores can clog up and cause dark patches, spots and even acne. The antimicrobial properties of bergamot oil are highly effective in getting rid of this build up and cleansing the skin of free radicals.

Jasmine Oil

Derived from the Jasmine flower, Jasmine Oil is known for its sweet, light fragrance and aromatherapy uses. It’s scent can help sooth the mind and ease tension too.

Aside from it’s delightful scent, Jasmine Oil has many amazing properties that can improve the health of your hair. Similar to Jojoba Oil, it contains amazing moisturising properties that can help prevent hair breakage. It also maintains natural moisture in hair as well as improving elasticity.

Patchouli Oil

Patchouli oil is an essential oil derived from the leaves of the patchouli plant, a type of aromatic herb. It’s leaves and stems are harvested, dried and then undergo a distillation process to extract the essential oil.

Patchouli Oil is an antiseptic, astringent, and fungicide. All three properties are amazing for treating mild to severe scalp conditions like dandruff, psoriasis, and eczema.
